I help people explore the stories they’ve built their lives around—where they’ve been, what those experiences have meant, and how to move forward with greater clarity, authenticity, and self-trust. My practice supports individuals, families, and systems in working through trauma, substance use, identity development, and relationship challenges. I specialize in working with young adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, and those navigating motivation difficulties, emotional neglect, complex trauma or life transitions. With a grounded, creative, and often humorous approach, I integrate Brainspotting, contemplative psychotherapy, and sex therapy (AASECT-certified), along with elements of DBT, play therapy, and mindfulness-based relapse prevention. I also help clients with integration of spiritual experiences and psychedelic work. Whether in individual or family work, I aim to help clients cultivate emotional autonomy, find congruence between values and action, and build meaningful connections within themselves and their communities.

My Approach: Direct and Compassionate - I believe these are the two greatest traits I can bring into my work with others. While working with clients I strive to provide honest feedback that will help guide them forward towards recovery while offering compassion along the journey. I believe that the best route to change is a direct one that does not beat around the bush. The road to recovery of any form can be very difficult as life may be in a state of turmoil. I have found that offering a compassionate approach that fits an individual's needs is the best route to take. My specialities/areas of focus are: substance abuse, addiction and trauma. I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have additional trainings in Brainspotting and DBT. In my work as a counselor and my own life I have found that connection is of incredible importance. Inability or unwillingness to feel and express uncomfortable emotions can keep people disconnected. Through the process of recovery, lifestyle changes, and personal growth many people experience fear, anger, sadness, and many other emotions.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist in private practice. I work mainly through insight-oriented psychotherapy, but I also offer diagnostic evaluations and prescribing services. Patients see me for a variety of concerns around self-esteem, trauma, attachment, dependency, boundaries, self-criticism, and childhood abuse/neglect. These issues may lead to shame, guilt, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, perfectionism, self-loathing, or repeated conflicts with family, colleagues, or romantic partners. Therapy is a chance to think carefully together about your past and present experiences to deepen your insight into your situation. As we come to understand your inner world, I hope you will gradually notice a greater sense of flexibility, freedom, and openness to life's many joys and challenges. As a psychiatrist, I am happy to help with diagnostic clarification and medical treatment of most general psychiatric conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and others. While medications alone often fail to address the deeper conflicts and traumas that cause our symptoms, a thoughtful approach to prescribing can help build a foundation for the personal work that leads to lasting change. I have special experience working with university students and early career professionals in medicine, academia, law, tech, and the arts. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I welcome and affirm those who may identify as LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent.

I believe that what many of us desire most is a richness of connection - to ourselves, the ones we love, and the natural world around us. In my own experience, therapy offered a path forward, helping me cultivate a secure attachment within myself during a time that felt totally chaotic. Healing took place through being in the presence of a warm and compassionate guide, who could shine a light for me on possibility when I felt stuck in my same patterns. Many of my clients are seeking this: a guided opportunity to embrace their Whole Self so that they can find more presence, meaning and joy in their relationships and in their lives. My approach is collaborative and personalized, drawing upon my training in Gestalt Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness-based modalities. I also enjoy working with the Enneagram, which can serve as a powerful tool for spiritual and relational development. I believe that self inquiry and transformation is a patient process that requires courage, tenderness, honesty, and oftentimes a sense of humor. What I offer is more than a 60 minute session, but an invitation to step into a new way of being inside and outside of our time together. Want to chat more? I offer 20-minute complimentary consultation calls.

I have 30 years of working with adolescents and young adults. My approach to therapy is founded in the value of the therapeutic relationship. It is very important my clients feel heard and validated with a sense of security as they explore their experiences of both suffering and success. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidenced based psychotherapy treatment to help improve communication with others, reduce fears and phobias, interrupt thoughts that lead to addictive or other self-destructive behaviors, improve self esteem and change negative thought patterns. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations in psychiatric hospitals, treatment programs, the criminal justice system, young adult transitional programs, family systems and private practice.

Challenges are essential to growth. We all face challenges. The various challenges, crises, traumas we all inevitably encounter can create anxiety, depression, and disconnection. Unfortunately, labels and diagnoses can stop you from seeing that you are okay. As you are. Your felt experiences of hurt, when processed deeply, actually lead to self-discovery. Seeking help doesn’t mean that anything is necessarily wrong. In fact, expertise can guide you through these moments safely. Through somatic healing therapy, individuals and couples will find inner strength to start anew. I am a somatic therapist who counsels individuals and couples to honor who they truly are. Together, we explore new ways to cope with conflicts, and the challenges presented in day-to-day life. Bring all of yourself to therapy. You’ll create better relationships with yourself and others as a result. So, get comfortable. Let’s find what brings you joy and helps you feel fulfilled. Break through. Ultimately, this process is about loving and becoming more of yourself.

Finding a space where you can show up fully, exactly as you are, is where real change begins. My work centers on trauma-informed and culturally responsive counseling, with a focus on emotional regulation and the connection between mind and body. Whether you're navigating identity, processing past experiences, or moving through a significant life transition, this is a space built for your healing. Many of the people I work with are adolescents and adults who carry the weight of trauma, systemic stressors, and the ongoing work of understanding themselves. Those from marginalized and BIPOC communities are especially welcome here, where your experiences will be met with the validation, safety, and cultural awareness they deserve. Beginning therapy takes courage, and honoring that courage is something I take seriously. Together, we'll build insight, develop tools for lasting change and empowerment, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to who you are. Therapy, at its best, is a collaboration. My approach is relational and integrative, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and somatic-based practices that attend to both the emotional and physical dimensions of your experience. What that looks like in practice is a space that is nonjudgmental, responsive to your pace, and shaped around your unique story. These techniques help create a sense of safety as you explore your experiences with safety and validation while guiding how we engage with what's been most difficult. The goal isn't just symptom relief; it's a deeper sense of self-trust and the kind of healing that stays with you. No matter where you are when you walk in, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative partner who meets you there. A deep curiosity about how our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us is what first drew me to this work. Through training and time spent with a diverse range of patients, that curiosity evolved into a genuine commitment to care that is both trauma-informed and culturally responsive. What guides me in every session is a belief that each person's story deserves to be honored in its full complexity. Bringing a warm, attuned, and thoughtful presence to the room is how I create space for you to feel seen, supported, and understood. Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in hiking, walking my dog Jax, reality TV, staying chronically online, and losing myself in a good book across any genre. These moments of rest and play are how I stay grounded, and that same sense of presence and balance is something I bring into my work with you.
