I believe that healing and growth happen when one is truly heard. As a therapist, I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space to support this process and help you move past fears and obstacles that may be getting in the way of your success and happiness. I specialize in helping adults navigate life transitions as well as stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma related to issues of identity, self-esteem, relationships, school, and career. Together, we’ll work towards goals such as deepening self-awareness, overcoming unhelpful patterns, learning effective coping methods, cultivating self-acceptance, and building emotional resilience. I am particularly interested in working with diverse populations, including 1.5 and 2nd generation Asian Americans, BIPOC, and expats. As a native New Yorker and second generation Taiwanese-American, I’m especially attuned to issues of belonging and marginalization, and the complexities that arise from navigating intersecting identities and conflicting expectations, wants, and needs. In addition to being trained and licensed as a mental health counselor (LMHC), I have completed post-graduate work in psychodynamic therapy at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing®, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). Prior to practicing therapy, I worked in advertising and marketing. I have found that my own winding path has given me a unique perspective and ability to connect with a variety of individuals and their struggles. If any of this resonates with you, I invite you to schedule a complimentary video consultation and take the first step towards feeling better. I would be honored to help you reshape your life story to create more balance, meaning, and fulfillment. www.dianaliao.com @therapywithdiana

Here for you, always - and we mean that. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, and when that happens it can feel like the walls around you are caving in. We’re here to help you push those walls back up and construct a life that feels aligned with the one you have always envisioned for yourself. Manhattan Wellness isn’t your typical clinical practice, and that’s intentional. You may have considered therapy in the past but felt like the entire process was too cold, too clinical or too buttoned up. We’re here to change that for you. Our therapists are authentic (and human- just like you) and have an approach that makes you feel like you’re talking to a friend over coffee- not someone who is analyzing you with a pen and paper in hand. Our clients know that they are the experts of their own experience Every human experience is unique, which means therapy for moving through those experiences should be too. MW doesn’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Instead, we offer our unique combination of client-tailored techniques and empathy-first approach. This cultivates a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable and inspired to make powerful strides towards living your best life both now and later. Just like how your hairstylist knows exactly how you like your blowout, your therapist will get to know you on a personal level and create a tailored therapy plan that works for you because it was made for you. Manhattan Wellness is a boutique psychotherapy practice that just gets it. Sessions feel like you’re talking to a trusted friend, not a therapist, and you have the opportunity to share what’s on your mind without judgment. We offer both in person and virtual therapy sessions that help you work through obstacles so you can live your best life both now and in the future. Our providers lead with empathy and understanding so you truly feel heard and validated. Therapy should never feel like a “one size fits all” solution. That’s why we offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation call with a hand-selected provider that meets your unique needs.

With evidence-based tools and a compassionate approach, we’ll create a nurturing space for you to explore your values, hopes, and goals at your own pace. My intention is to always meet you exactly where you are and empower you to experience more freedom, presence and joy in your life. I work with individuals who want to understand their story more deeply; exploring childhood experiences, recognizing patterns, and healing from attachment wounds. Using evidence-based tools and a compassionate, meet-you-where-you-are approach, I’m here to support you along the way. Therapy is about understanding yourself more fully and finding the confidence to live in alignment with what matters most to you. The hardest part is often getting started. Individuals who find Advika Anand, therapist and EMDR practitioner, are often feeling stuck—trapped in cycles of overthinking, stress, or sadness. Life may feel like sinking in quicksand, with thoughts and emotions pulling them deeper the more they struggle. Many notice recurring patterns—emotional, physical, or relational—that feel difficult to change, no matter how much effort they have made. Advika’s approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in both somatic and evidence-based practices. She works alongside clients to create a sense of safety, build self-awareness, and gently explore the root causes of distress at a pace that feels comfortable. Central to her process is recognizing the deep connection between mind and body. Drawing from EMDR therapy, relational psychotherapy, mindfulness, and DBT, Advika helps clients regulate emotions, heal from past experiences, and strengthen their relationships—with themselves and others. Her work often involves processing trauma, building emotional resilience, and developing practical skills for personal growth. Advika believes that healing is a two-step process: addressing sources of distress while also equipping clients with mental and emotional tools to thrive.
