Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
You may be coming to sex therapy now because you are needing a bit more expertise around how to talk about and process the sexual relationship with yourself or partner. You may be tired of not feeling good in your body or in your relationship and can remember a time when it felt better. You are ready to find out why you feel so disconnected from yourself and from the person or people you care about most. You’ve been having the same conversations over and over again, arriving at the same destination, and feeling as though you can’t get out of the spiral. You want to feel safe. You want to feel heard. You want to be seen. You are ready to make the commitment to know yourself in a deeper way. We will start by figuring out when you noticed there was a problem. Did something happen? How are you making sense of the problem? What have you tried to fix the problem? At times, getting good information and experimenting is all you need to start feeling good. Sometimes we need to keep digging.

Hello, my name is Traci Boyle-Galestiantz (she/her). Life, relationships and finding our way can be challenging in 10,000 ways and support with navigating those challenges is something we all need and deserve. I have worked with families and individuals in all stages of life; while working through major or minor transitions, healing from trauma, loneliness, grief and the struggles of personal development. My roles as a social worker have ranged from crisis line counselor, support group facilitator, restraining order advocate, shelter worker, and educator. The theories that most guide my practice are based in a client centered strengths based approach. I am an avid LGBTQ+ ally and care deeply about racial and social justice. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2007 and deeply appreciate being entrusted with people’s stories, struggles, and triumphs.
The world is extra stressful right now and your plate may feel way past full. You know it's time for a change. Together we can work on overcoming stressors, calming anxiety, building self-compassion and breaking free of the cycle of worry.
Do you feel ready to explore and heal what’s getting in the way of you living your most joyful, creative, connected life? Are depression and anxiety keeping you either feeling weighed down, dull, and purposeless, or else on high alert and living from a place of fear and busyness round the clock? Are habitual thought-loops and tensions in the body keeping you in a perpetual state of mistrust, perfectionism/people-pleasing, and/or judgement towards yourself and others? Often, depression and anxiety are the result of an impulse getting “stuck” in the system and not being able complete its cycle. In my practice, I use a blend of Somatic Experiencing, Voice Dialogue Parts Work, and mindfulness-based present moment inquiry to create a compassionate and attuned space of inner exploration and healing. My goal is to help you move through "unfinished business" stored in the body and the mind, so that you can live in greater wellbeing and freedom. I am here to help you gently release the shame, fear and mistrust that may be holding you back from delighting in your life and in your connections to humans and to the more-than-human world.
I provide individual teletherapy for adults across the state of Oregon. I have a passion for helping people heal from trauma, decrease anxiety, and improve their self-esteem. Before patients come to see me, they “feel bad” almost reflexively and frequently experience high anxiety. They are wracked with feelings of guilt and may be afraid of upsetting people. They often over-extend themselves in the name of service to others. On the outside, my clients look like they have it together but feel internally like they are just treading water. If that sounds familiar, you’ve come to the right place. Counseling may be for you if: You find it easier to focus on other’s emotions and needs than on your own. You like to think and are insightful, but don’t always know how to feel. You have difficulty experiencing emotions beyond an overwhelming sense of guilt or just “feeling bad.” You feel resentful that other people don’t work as hard as you, but are terrified to ask for what you want or need from others. You are often anxious or tense; relaxation and rest feel nearly impossible. You feel trapped by family pressures or relationships that refuse to evolve. I specialize in treating trauma (especially complex or childhood trauma), anxiety, and difficulties with self-esteem.
You’re different from those around you. You sometimes feel stuck in patterns that don't work anymore, but you don't know what else you're supposed to do. Maybe you are adjusting to being in school here in the US, and the cultural differences between you and your professors, worry about what’s happening at home, and struggling to find comfort in an impermanent place. I can help. My ideal clients are hard working and driven, both by your own strengths and a desire to make your family and maybe even your country of origin proud. I work with students struggling with anxiety, trauma, ADHD and attention troubles, conflict with family and friends and figuring out systems that work for them. I love working with queer and trans students especially on figuring out how you can make space in your academic field of interest as a queer person. I provide compassionate, trauma-aware, attachment-focused therapy to help clients heal from trauma, manage their ADHD, and reduce anxiety. I love working with international students in college and university: you’re here to make the world better and are dedicated to your education and career. As an Adult Third Culture Kid (TCK) I especially want to serve that community. I also am LGBTQ+ affirming and polyamory-aware. I am Jewish and like supporting Jewish students navigate tradition, spirituality and living with non-Jews for the first time, and am comfortable supporting Hindu, Muslim, Sikh & Buddhist clients, as well as clients from other religions and traditions. I can help you make meaning of your time here, and work on developing coping skills for worry, loneliness and sadness. I use parts work, mindfulness, emotion regulation skill building and story telling (IFS, DBT, Narrative, Emotion Focused and EMDR, for folks who like a little jargon) to help clients heal trauma, work through conflict and build a better life for themselves.

As an art therapist and counselor, I utilize the process and product of art making to support individuals in discovering insight, moving toward growth, and finding balance. Art therapy can offer an alternative means of communication to express difficult emotions or experiences that may feel impossible to put into words. You do not have to identify as an artist to find healing through art therapy. Art making is always optional and no artistic skills or previous experience is needed. If you would like to learn more about what therapy might look like or how I can support you, please feel free to contact me.
Some of my specialty areas include working with clients who have experienced attachment trauma in their families of origin and have struggled with codependency or self-worth wounds. I frequently work with queer clients and with those who are questioning or exploring meaning and purpose relative to their larger societal or spiritual life, particularly those who find themselves outside the mainstream in their sexuality, beliefs, or social values. I provide assistance with communications, boundary-setting and interpersonal difficulties and focus on depth and narrative work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framing, including present-moment and somatic emphasis of emotional experience.
We all experience times in our lives when we feel stuck, disconnected, or out of balance. I strive to create an environment where couples, individuals, and families feel supported and heard. I invite you to deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships through my experiential, attachment-based approach.
As both a licensed professional counselor and a licensed massage therapist, I deeply value the strength of a holistic approach to healing that incorporates the mind, the body, and the spirit. I am interested in the meaning we make about our experiences, how these beliefs crystalize into our physical form, and the divinity in all of us that transcends our personalities. I have seen time and time again that the deepest pain can be transformed into the compost of our most profound joys and spiritual awakenings. I offer individual sessions that include both counseling and embodiment practices to address developmental trauma, PTSD, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, chronic pain/auto-immune disorders, and spiritual/energetic issues. My approach uses somatic (body-centered) awareness and mindfulness as a way to enhance traditional talk therapy and draws from the wisdom traditions of yoga and Buddhism, the biodynamic field of the human energy system, and somatic psychotherapy. I have worked in the mental health field since 2001 in a variety of settings, including psychiatric, drug treatment, and youth corrections. It was disheartening at the time to see in many ways how these facilities and institutions provided an environment that kept people in traumatic stress, and not necessarily the safety and connection that allowed for deeper healing to take place—there had to be another way. I had a passionate drive to follow the path of yoga, spirituality, touch, and the possibilities of being fully human. After attending massage therapy school to pursue a career in the healing arts, I realized how powerful both mind and body therapies are for holistic healing. I am a fervent learner and have specialized training in somatic psychotherapy and craniosacral therapy, as well as an extensive yoga and meditation practice which greatly influences my work. I look forward to accompanying you on a journey of healing and transformation.

I enjoy collaborating with folks to find the right therapeutic container for the work that will offer ease, growth, and healing in daily life and beyond. This looks different for everyone and I’ve found that art, music, play therapy, and somatic inquiry are some of the ways I lean into building a therapeutic container that is attuned to each person's unique needs. I have experience and strength in working with 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Chronically sick, Disabled, Neurodiverse, Children, Youth, Families, and Communities with a focus on cultural experiences, queer and trans experiences, life transitions, and trauma recovery.
