I know that life can be challenging, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. I’m a board-certified, Mount Sinai-trained adult psychiatrist, and my passion is helping individuals like you achieve optimal mental well-being. In our work together, I combine therapy and medication, when needed, with practical lifestyle changes—like improving sleep, nutrition, and mindfulness—to help you create a balanced, healthy life. I believe that everyone’s journey is unique, so I’m dedicated to crafting a personalized treatment plan that fits your specific needs and goals. I take a holistic approach to mental health, considering not just the mind and body but also the cultural and social factors that shape our experiences. This is especially important to me in the South Asian community, where discussions around mental health can feel daunting. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where you can express your concerns. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, cultural challenges, or life transitions, I’m here to help you find the clarity and resilience to thrive. Together, we can work towards your mental health goals and foster a brighter, more balanced future. I look forward to partnering with you on this journey!
As your therapist, I will help you know yourself in a deeper way. In doing so, you will be better equipped to enact changes in your life that will lead to greater happiness and a sense of well-being. We cannot erase negative past experiences. We can, however, work together to help you to better understand and to respond to these experiences in more constructive ways. Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, I will help you to become more aware of your long standing, negative behavioral patterns which are getting in your way of resolving challenges and of establishing and meeting your goals in life. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, conflicted relationships, work stress and identity issues. As an alternative to therapy, I also offer coaching services for clients working toward specific personal goals in the areas of career/work, self care (e.g. weight loss, improved work-life balance, meditation/mindfulness practices) and relationships. In addition to my 5th Avenue office, I have offices on East 57th St and in Great Neck, Long Island. I also provide therapy online to residents of NY State.
I a relationally oriented gestalt therapist. People work best with me who are looking for an empathic, non-confrontational yet direct psychotherapist who will interact with them. I work best with intelligent and creative individuals. I offer online sessions. Most of my practice is online. Please check for in-person availability.
I am a bicultural therapist who is passionate about supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments. My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered—I believe that each person’s story is unique, and I tailor our work together using a blend of evidence-based modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices. I specialize in working with caregivers, individuals managing chronic illness, and first-generation students and immigrant families. I am an LGBTQI+ affirming, anti-racist/anti-oppressive, body-positive therapist. Throughout the therapy journey, I am committed to walking alongside my clients, providing steady support as they explore their emotions, make meaningful changes, and build resilience. I view therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together to identify goals and strategies that align with each individual’s values, strengths, and needs.
My work is primarily catered toward issues such as acute stress, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges involving mood and anxiety. While I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, I am particularly invested in working with clients with marginalized identities, acting as a welcoming ally to queer and trans identified individuals and people of color. As a therapist, I have close to a decade of experience working with a range of at-risk populations in a number of professional settings. Many of my clients arrive feeling like they move from one stressor to the next. Getting out of bed is difficult, creativity and passion fade, and scrolling on a screen replaces human contact. My practice aims at helping individuals uncover, clarify, and address substantial barriers which block pleasure and satisfaction. The work I do involves a deep exploration of historical, interpersonal, and emotional factors in conjunction with the development of practical skills aimed at fostering wellness.
I specialize in supporting college students as they navigate academic pressure, identity exploration, relationships, and life transitions. College can be an exciting but overwhelming time, and therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and build skills that support both mental health and personal growth. I work best with undergraduate and graduate students who are motivated to understand themselves better, develop coping skills, and make meaningful changes during their college journey.

We are all hard-wired to feel and to connect to others, yet so many of us are scared of our feelings. We are afraid of being overwhelmed by them and of being dismissed or ignored by others if we share them. It is our fear of feeling and fear of revealing that causes us to experience symptoms of distress and disconnection from ourselves and from each other. In our sessions and through the psychotherapeutic model of AEDP, we focus on getting past this fear in order to fully embrace our feelings. Our work together is not about you simply retelling your story; it's about you embracing and sharing the emotions that come up as you tell it. By learning to be authentic and transparent with your feelings, you will feel calmer and more confident while experiencing deeper connections. Ultimately, your true self will emerge.
